Analysis

Chapter five concerns weather and the emotions of a certain character, Gatsby. While Gatsby is trying to get to know Daisy better , and see her and learn more about her the weather is mirroring his exact emotions. Throughout this whole chapter Gatsby's emotions are going crazy. First it pours rain showing that hes wicked nervous, then it becomes very sunny because he is excited to see Daisy and things are going well. Also when Daisy and Gatsby are in the room together its sunny outside which symbolizes there feelings for each other. But then when it rains it shows that's Gatsby is upset that Daisy is leaving. 106 During this chapter, its a little confusing as to why Gatsby is the one whose emotions are mirrored. But you learn that hes the one that has been threw the most change and figure out that Daisy is really the only thing in life that he wanted. Gatsby got rich to impress Daisy but he wasn't rich enough for her and that's not what Gatsby deserved.
